ABSTRACT
Cerebrospinal fluid conveys many physiologically important signaling factors through the ventricular cavities of brain. We investigated transport cerebrospinal in third ventricle mouse brain and discovered a highly organized pattern cilia modules, which collectively give rise to network flows that allows for precise within this ventricle. also cilia-based switch reliably periodically alters flow so as create dynamic subdivision may control substance distribution Complex patterns were present ventricles rats pigs. Our work suggests ciliated epithelia can generate maintain complex, spatiotemporally regulated networks.
