ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT In this study, airborne MS2 bacteriophages were exposed for subsecond time intervals to atmospheric-pressure cold plasma (APCP) produced using different power levels (20, 24, and 28 W) gas carriers (ambient air, Ar-O 2 [2%, vol/vol], He-O vol/vol]). addition, waterborne viruses directly subjected the APCP treatment up 3 min. with without exposure examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR), sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Viral inactivation was shown exhibit linear relationships generation ( R > 0.95 all energy tested) 95% (1.3-log reduction) after a at W; about same level achieved an of less than 1 A larger amount reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as atomic oxygen, in detected higher carriers. SEM images, SDS-PAGE, agarose analysis showed various damage both surface proteins their related RNA genes exposure, thus leading loss viability infectivity.
