ABSTRACT
Five media, including Trypticase soy agar (TSA; BBL) pour plates, spread plates of TSA, Mycophil with chloromycetin, chloromycetin and Actidione, cornmeal were quantitatively qualitatively compared for the detection fungi on spacecraft. Cornmeal yielded highest number fungal colonies, although not always significantly higher than or TSA plates. also gave best qualitative representation spacecraft, recovering 68% genera found from all media. This medium 10 times colonies 3 as currently used spacecraft assay.
