ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Our previous studies revealed that the srrX and srrA genes carried on large linear plasmid pSLA2-L constitute a γ-butyrolactone-receptor system in Streptomyces rochei . Extensive transcriptional analysis has now showed antibiotic regulatory protein gene srrY , which is also pSLA2-L, target of receptor/repressor SrrA plays central role lankacidin lankamycin production. The was expressed growth-dependent manner, slightly preceding expression undetectable mutant but restored double mutant. In addition, bound specifically to promoter region this binding prevented by addition S. γ-butyrolactone fraction, while W119A receptor kept even presence γ-butyrolactone. Furthermore, introduction an intact under control foreign into or ( ) All these results confirmed signaling pathway from through leading
