ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV/HHV-8) is the likely infectious cause of sarcoma, primary effusion lymphoma, and some cases multicentric Castleman’s disease. Its latent nuclear antigen (LANA) expressed in nuclei latently infected cells may play a role persistence episomal viral DNA dividing cells. Here we report that LANA interacts with RING3, protein member Drosophila fsh (female sterile homeotic) family proteins, which have previously been implicated controlling gene expression. Binding RING3 to involves ET domain, characteristic fsh-related suggesting this highly conserved region involved protein-protein interactions. The interaction between results phosphorylation serine threonine residues located amino acids 951 1107 carboxy-terminal LANA. However, not itself kinase but appears recruit an as yet unidentified serine/threonine into complex it forms
