ABSTRACT
The development of the epidermis Caenorhabditis elegans involves cell fusion, migration, and differentiation events. To understand mechanisms underlying these processes, we characterized roles NHR-25, a member nuclear receptor family transcription factors. NHR-25 homologs Ftz-F1 in Drosophila SF-1 mammals are involved various biological including regulation patterning during development, reproduction, metabolism, metamorphosis, homeostasis. Impairment nhr-25 activity leads to severe phenotypes embryos many postembryonic tissues. Further analysis has indicated that is required for proper cell-cell several epidermal types, such as syncytial, seam, Pn.p cells. Our results also suggest likely regulate junctions and/or fusion. In subset cells, called vulval precursor acts collaboratively with lin-39 Hox gene regulating differentiation. Additionally, our data may function another gene, nob-1, embryogenesis. Overall, indicate plays an integral role cellular processes
