Chemical gastritis and Helicobacter pylori related gastritis in patients receiving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: comparison and correlation with peptic ulceration.

ABSTRACT
AIMS: To evaluate the prevalence and significance of chemical gastritis, in comparison with gastritis related to Helicobacter pylori patients receiving non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). METHODS: Two hundred eighteen were studied, 174 whom taking NSAIDs. Chemical was defined as presence foveolar hyperplasia, muscle fibres lamina propria, oedema vasodilation, absence a chronic cell infiltrate. RESULTS: found 46 (26%) NSAIDs, three (7%) subjects not these (p less than 0.01). H detected 56 (32%) NSAIDs compared 22 (50%) agents 0.02). Ulcers 16 out 72 (22%) without infection or 27 (48%) 0.01), 25 (54%) CONCLUSIONS: Peptic ulcers associated use seem occur more commonly infection. Patients also have greater but lower those drugs.
