ABSTRACT
This paper examines the importance of unit analysis selected for trip generation modelling when model estimation data are collected in a household travel survey. The reviews literature on arguments made use "individual" or "household" as production modelling, and then through statistical exposition it determines what should be appropriate analysis. An empirical test forecast performance household- person-trip models is conducted using household-travel-behaviour survey Greater Toronto Area Canada. concludes that theoretically preferable to which sampling unit. indicates household-trip yield predictions trips at traffic zone level, respectively, marginally more accurate than those yielded by models.Key words: generation, demand forecasting, person unit, modeling, activity-based forecasting.
