ABSTRACT
The brain can be described as a very complex dynamical system whose autonomous, intrinsic activity is modulated by great variety of external inputs. In the last decade, simulation this using networks neurons has led to development new approaches describe processing information nervous system. review paper we focus on winnerless competition, concept allowing analysis emergent behavior associated with collective synchronization, multi-stability and adaptation — properties which seem at basis performance. relationship between competition chaotic itinerancy stressed pointing out their common association formation heteroclinic orbits in high-dimensional phase space dynamics neuronal systems. potentialities coupled map study activation synchronization regimes neural systems are suggested means different simulations showing phenomena.
