ABSTRACT
The contact between a vehicle tire and the road surface has been usually assumed as single-point in numerical simulation of vehicle–bridge interacted vibrations. In reality, contacts through patch instead single point. According to some recent studies, model may overestimate dynamic amplification bridge responses due loadings. A new model, namely, multi-point is therefore proposed this paper with purpose improving accuracy results over while maintaining certain level simplicity for applications. series simulations are carried out compare effect those existing disk on responses. also verified against field test results. show that can predict better than especially under distressed deck conditions, computationally more efficient simpler application model.
