ABSTRACT
Contact between solids is a ubiquitous phenomenon in engineering and an enduring topic tribology. However, material yield plateau strain hardening are common ductile metals but rarely considered contact mechanics. This work develops three-phase constitutive model that accurately describes the elastic plastic behaviors considering both hardening, then constructs finite element for of rigid flat corresponding elastoplastic hemisphere. The Taguchi method employed to conduct numerical simulations parameters finding generalized empirical formulations dimensionless load area versus interference range [Formula: see text]. presented demonstrate good accuracy verified with KE, JG, Ghaednia’s models. fills gap has not ever been explored mechanics provides basic describing behavior rough surfaces metal.
