ABSTRACT
Algorithm visualizations (AVs) are widely viewed as having the potential for improving computer science education. However, rate of AV use and overall impact on education does not match positive interest in their that instructors report. Surveys CS faculty show impediments to successful AVs classroom include difficulties finding quality desired topics, adapting a given setting, lack knowledge best way deploy AVs. This indicates need better support instructors, get them past these barriers. We seek provide this through an online educational community relies new model based less "digital library" approach information gained by going site searching. Instead, focus is community-added content members' discussions, reviews, ratings items. The AlgoViz effort will future direction development use.
