ABSTRACT
Fifth Generation (5G) networks are becoming the norm in global telecommunications industry. In this paper, we present first large-scale measurement study on commercial 5G Non Standalone (NSA) deployments a European country. We leverage collected dataset, which covers two Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) Rome, Italy, to first, network deployment and radio coverage aspects, second, explore performance of use cases related enhanced Broadband (eMBB) Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC). Results show that NSA can provide higher downlink throughput slightly lower latency compared Fourth (4G) systems. However, is influenced by several factors, including propagation conditions, system configurations, handover events, ultimately highlighting need for further optimization.
