We present Certes (CliEnt Response Time Estimated by Server), an online server-based mechanism servers measure time, as if measured at client. based on a model TCP that quantifies effect connection drops using three simple server-side measurements: drop rate, accept rate and completion rate. The does not require modifications http or pages, rely probing third party sampling, client-side scripting. can be used any content, just HTML. implemented compared its time measurements with those obtained detailed instrumentation. Our results demonstrate provides accurate in HTTP 1.0/1.1 [14] environments, even rapidly changing workloads. runs constant very low overhead. It sites server farms verify compliance service level objectives.
