ABSTRACT
Multi-user virtual environment (MUVE) systems integrate the technologies of reality and distributed system to allow users interact with each other in a realistic environment. However, due inflexibility current message protocol design, most these can only user trigger canned animations sequential manner. In order enable more flexible avatar animations, we propose use XML as language design extensible animations. We modified an open source MUVE called VNet replaced its XML-based structures. have also designed three animation functions illustrate extensibility specification: motion synchronization, scripts, integration at different levels. Several examples been demonstrate how be used enrich system.
