ABSTRACT
Abstract In this study, citric acid (CA) dissolved in propylene glycol (PG) was shown to be an effective binder/solvent system for Si-based anode materials Li-ion batteries. system, PG serves both as a slurry solvent and provides viscosity the inhibit settling of active particles proper rheology during coating process, while small CA molecule binder/artificial solid electrolyte interphase. After 50 cycles, SiO/carbon black/CA electrodes had higher capacity retention (93%) than conventional with lithium polyacrylate (LiPAA) polymeric binder (68%), due superior maintenance cohesion particles. This demonstrates that molecules may used binders when is can take on role maintaining rheology.
