ABSTRACT
In exercise physiology, laboratory components help students connect theoretical concepts to their own experiences and introduce them data collection, analysis, interpretation using classic techniques. Most courses include a lab protocol that involves exhaustive incremental during which expired gas volumes concentrations of oxygen carbon dioxide are measured. During these protocols, there characteristic alterations in exchange ventilatory profiles give rise two thresholds: the threshold (GET) respiratory compensation point (RCP). The ability explain why thresholds occur how they identified is fundamental learning physiology requisite understanding core including intensity, prescription, performance. Proper identification GET RCP requires assembly eight plots. past, burden time expertise required process prepare for has been source frustration. addition, often express desire more opportunities practice/refine skills. objective this article share blended model features "Exercise Thresholds App," free online resource eliminates postprocessing provides bank on end-users can practice skills with immediate feedback. addition prelaboratory postlaboratory recommendations, we present student accounts understanding, engagement, satisfaction following completion experience new quiz feature app assist instructors evaluating learning.NEW & NOTEWORTHY We study from measures learning.
