ABSTRACT
The association, in different ethnic groups, of apolipoprotein E (apoE) gene polymorphism with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has been unclear. Few studies have examined the association Chinese minorities. current study explores between apoE and MCI one biggest groups-the Hui-and compares it Han. Minimental State Exam, Activities Daily Living Scale, Geriatric Depression Scale were administered to 306 Hui 618 Han people aged ≥55 years. ApoE genotypes determined using high resolution melting curve method. distribution genotype frequency alleles ε2, ε3, ε4 similar groups. In analyses adjusted for age, gender, education level, allele was a risk factor both group (OR = 2.61, 95% CI: 1.02-6.66) 2.36, 1.19-4.67), but ε2 protective only 0.48, 0.38-0.88). some may differ groups China. Further are needed explore this effect among populations.
