ABSTRACT
Deficiency of the organs is a vital pathophysiologic characteristic in elderly. A core TCM aging theory known as caused by spleen deficiency syndrome (SDS) that can be found ancient and modern literature. The key objectives this study were to establish full-scale trial evaluate prevalence, symptom severity, frequency, distribution SDS different age groups related health status (healthy, subhealthy, chronic disease) elucidate role process deterioration status. This cross-sectional observational was conducted 4 hospitals China. 1390 participants aged 20-79 interviewed investigators who completed questionnaires recording frequency symptoms well other relevant information. results revealed prevalence characteristics showed regularities with increasing deteriorating It supports concept an important mechanism aging, subhealth, diseases. Early recognition warning signs may lead intervention even prevention strategies for subhealth diseases promotion healthy aging.
