ABSTRACT
Background . Although the link between hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome had been recognized, association of dyslipidemia among individuals with remains not comprehensively assessed. Methods Using NHANES III study, we examined relation serum lipid profiles different uric acid levels, including total cholesterol, LDL triglycerides, HDL apolipoprotein-B, lipoprotein (a), apolipoprotein AI, ratio triglycerides to apolipoprotein-B AI. Results After adjusting for potential confounders, average differences (95% confidence interval) comparing top bottom (reference) were 0.29 (0.19, 0.39) mmol/L 0.33 (0.26, 0.41) 0.14 (0.01, 0.27) −0.08 (−0.11, −0.05) HDL, 0.09 (0.05, 0.12) g/L apolipoprotein-B. Notably, ratios cholesterol AI also linearly associated levels ( P trend < 0.001). Conclusions This study suggested that are strongly whereas significantly inversely associated. In clinical practice, more comprehensive strategic management deal deserves further investigation.
