ABSTRACT
Samarium doped hydroxyapatite (Sm:HAp), (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 (HAp), bionanoparticles with different x Sm have been successfully synthesized by coprecipitation method. Detailed characterization of samarium nanoparticles (Sm:HAp‐NPs) was carried out using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The biocompatibility assessed cell viability. antibacterial activity the Sm:HAp‐NPs tested against Gram‐negative bacteria ( Pseudomonas aeruginosa Escherichia coli Gram‐positive Enterococcus faecalis Staphylococcus aureus ). A linear increase antimicrobial P. has observed when concentrations in samples = 0.02 were higher than 0.125 mg/mL. For 0.05 a significant on E. range 0.5–1 low 0.05) from 0.031 to mg/mL high noticed. growth inhibitory effect S. for all 0.02.
