ABSTRACT
Arsenic (As) is identified by the EPA as third highest toxic inorganic contaminant. Almost every 9th or 10th human in more than 70 countries including mainland China affected As. along with other toxins not only affects life but also creates alarming situations such deterioration of farm lands and desertion industrial/mining lands. Researchers administrators have agreed to opt for phytoremediation As over costly cleanups. Boehmeria nivea L. can soak up various heavy metals, Sb, Cd, Pb, Zn. But effect pollution on biology metabolism B. has been somewhat overlooked. This study attempts evaluate extent resistance, chlorophyll content, metabolic changes As-polluted (5, 10, 15, 20 mg L −1 As) hydroponics. Toxic effects form inhibited growth were apparent at level added The significant chlorophyll, electrolyte leakage, H 2 O , increases plant parts, catalase (CAT), malondialdehyde (MDA), applied revealed potential decontamination. By employing machinery was sustainably removed from contaminated areas.
