ABSTRACT
The effect of two essential oils (EOs), from Origanum vulgare and majorana , their structural properties, concentration on physical antimicrobial characteristics chitosan based solutions as well films was investigated. Results showed that significantly different behaviour induced by variation in the compositions given oils. Film-forming (FFS) containing oregano oil comprised considerably greater particles comparison with marjoram samples. Similarly, changes were confirmed SEM analysis modified EOs; smaller demonstrated better compatibility matrix. However, enriched superior activity compared to marjoram. dissimilar effects EOs also observed water vapour pressure (WVP) measurement; increasing amount triggered a drop WVP prepared films, whereas had negligible impact this respect. These results suggest features active substances play crucial role determining final properties FFS biofilm systems.
