ABSTRACT
To investigate the effects of Qi-Fang-Xi-Bi-Granules (QFXBGs) on cartilage morphology and methylation C/ebpα (CCAAT/enhancer binding proteinα) at promoter region.Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) modeling was performed in rats accordance with Hulth's method, control group received sham operation. Eight weeks after KOA modeling, were further divided into 6 groups. Each given appropriate drug. After 8 weeks, half used for Micro-CT scan, HE staining, ABH/OG immunohistochemistry, TUNNEL staining knee joint tissue, other to examine methylation.The three dose groups QFXBGs all showed lower degrees surface fissures flaking, thicker layer, restored chondrocyte subchondral bone morphology, compared model group. C/ebpα-22 levels high- low-dose significantly higher than that (p < 0.05), while C/ebpα-2 level medium-dose 0.05).QFXBGs may alleviate articular degeneration through promoting or specific sites.
