ABSTRACT
An alternative for prevention and treatment cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is increasing the intake of bioactive compounds as omega-3 . However, several countries México do not consume regularly foods with high content , mainly fish products due to cultural, social, economic factors. Therefore, addition in other food sources could contribute completing requirements established these fatty acids. To evaluate effect consumption poultry supplemented healthy population, a phase 1, double blind randomized, controlled parallel-group trial was carried out. After 14 weeks, group had an increase HDL, reducing atherogenic index. The supplementation cardioprotective effect. It necessary complete studies higher evaluation period determine improvement anthropometric parameters.
