ABSTRACT
Individuals with substance use disorder are prone to develop different psychiatric disorders. Substance abuse and associated problems of current global concern that leads mental health disorders which contributed about 14% the burden disease. It has become an epidemic in some parts African region adolescents being main victims ill social effects use. This study is aimed at assessing prevalence depression, anxiety, stress factors among khat chewers Amhara region, 2019. A community-based cross-sectional was done from February 14 April 15, purposive sampling technique used enroll subjects. Data collected using face-to-face interview Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21) questionnaire. Descriptive statistics bivariate multivariate logistic regression were summarize results. <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M1"> <a:mi>p</a:mi> </a:math> value < 0.05 considered statistically significant. total 478 participants enrolled a response rate 94.1%. The overall 27.4%, 40.6%, 18.8%, respectively. Around 43% respondents dependency chewing. Working private sector, self-employed, jobless, spending 90 180 minutes more, chewing 51-100 g more than once per week positively stress. On other hand, sector worker, completing secondary education, earning 1001-5000 ETB month, week, dependent, presence chronic illness anxiety. History dependent depression. high region. Special attention be given since will double illness. Proper awareness evaluation activities reduce impact problem.
