ABSTRACT
This study was undertaken to determine right ventricular (RV) function as assessed by colour Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) in patients with RV infarction.During the period, 35 were evaluated: 14 had an inferior myocardial infarction (MI) and 21 MI without involvement. Twenty age-matched healthy subjects served controls. The diagnosis of defined ST segment elevation >0.1 mV lead V4R. Systolic early late diastolic velocities acquired from apical four-chamber view at lateral tricuspid annulus, septal side annulus free mid-wall using DTI.Systolic significantly reduced compared those individuals (7.8 +/- 1 vs. 11 2 cm/s, p < 0.002) 10 0.002). annular velocity did not differ between groups. wall also decreased (7 8.7 0.01; 6.3 0.05, respectively) 9 8.3 respectively). The evaluation DTI provides a rapid noninvasive tool for assessing infarction.
