ABSTRACT
Our aim was to investigate the distribution pattern of cerebral artery calcification and its association with white matter hyperintensities (WMH).We identified 159 consecutive patients acute ischemic stroke. Calcifications arteries WMH were graded.Cerebral found in 137 (86.2%). The intracranial internal carotid (I-ICA) most frequently affected (76.7%) moderate-to-severe (38.1%). Spearman's rank test revealed that grade I-ICA correlated those periventricular (r = 0.417, p < 0.001) deep 0.388, 0.001). adjusted ORs 2.62 (p <0.05) for 3.25 WMH.Cerebral is common severely associated WMH.
