ABSTRACT

Wireless local area networks (WLAN) has been used recently due to their benefits which exhibits outstanding mobility with easier and faster configurations. The wireless network performance is much influenced by both topology hardware specifications thus will impact the quality of service (QoS) parameters are delay, load, response time. This works estimated WLAN in enterprise WAN based on OPNET modeler. Three scenarios have suggested FDDI scenario, Hybrid Star hybrid ring scenario involving web browsing (HTTP) file transfer protocol (FTP). Hardware objects software configurations kept same for all proposed scenarios. Different types links topologies applied among subnets as well involved gateway changed measure services used. findings confirmed that Ring presents better than Scenario terms FTP download time, HTTP object time.
