ABSTRACT
Halitosis is a morbid condition characterized by bad breath. Sometimes it has pathological and social implications. In the context of daily clinical practice, halitosis poses many diagnostic therapeutic problems. This study aims to investigate features this disorder.We conducted cross-sectional over one year period. Patients age 15 years presenting with at University Hospital Yalgado Ouedraogo were enrolled in study. breath but some other problema excluded. Patient's was assessed practitioner on basis Rosenberg organoleptic test.A total 35 patients included, sex ratio 1.2. The average 31.9 years. 57.1% cases, complaints made themselves. mean duration 4.3 Nineteen had Mel score ≥ 2. Dental caries (07 cases), sinusitis Helicobacter pylori infection (09 cases) gastrointestinal ulcer (10 associated halitosis. Treatment based etiology 82.9% cases satisfactory improvement after two weeks 71.8% cases.Halitosis little studied disorder which problem positive diagnosis as well etiologic problems our context. dentist plays crucial role identifying possible cause However, multidisciplinary approach would enable more effective response.
