ABSTRACT
there is few data on epidemiology or clinico-pathology of primary bone tumours in Ethiopia. Bone tumors often have a similar presentation and clinical approach, but they present individual characteristics that are important for treatment prognosis. This study aimed to provide brief overview histopathological pattern the distribution specific diagnosis by age, sex anatomic locations.a retrospective descriptive cross-sectional was conducted from January 2015 October 2019 Department Pathology, College Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University based surgical biopsy results.there were 335 patients; 158 (47%) had benign 177 (53%) malignant tumours. Osteochondroma most common tumour with 32.3% followed giant cell 16.5%, chondroma 11% others 40.2%. Osteosarcoma constitutes 62% all neoplasms, ewing sarcoma 15.2%, chondrosarcoma 11.3%, 11.5%. Most age group affected 10-29 yrs locations distal femur proximal tibia.the results parallel findings previously reported literature show as other developed underdeveloped countries.
