ABSTRACT
The prevalence of pulmonary involvement in primary Sjögren´s syndrome (pSS) varies depending on investigation methods. Our study aimed to identify the contribution different means systematic screening for pSS. This is a retrospective and descriptive including medical records pSS patients, who validated 2016 American College Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism classification criteria had undergone assessment. We enrolled 30 patients: twenty-nine females (97%) one male (3%). mean age was 55±17.4. In nine patients (30%), disease revealed diagnosis. Dyspnoea cough were respectively reported by 43% (N=13) 30% (N=9) patients. six-minute walk test showed desaturation four cases (14%) percent predicted distance less than 70% three (11%). Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) restrictive patterns (N=7, 26%), obstructive (N=2, 7%), combined (N=1, 4%), isolated small airway 4%). based high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) 31% (N=9/29). most frequent interstitial lung (ILD) observed five scans (56%) usual pneumonia frequently seen (60%). Bronchiolitis (25%) out 16 abnormal scans. results correlated with PFT (P<0.05). noted 50% (N=15). It clinically silent one-third (N=5). conclusion, can be asymptomatic 33% cases. has strong correlation PFT, it should considered as an assessment tool that reflects functional state patient.
