ABSTRACT
the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended use of tuberculosis preventive therapy (TPT) as part a comprehensive care package for reduction (TB) incidence among people who are living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWHA). When used optimally, TPT efficacy ranges between 60% and 90% adults children HIV. Despite wide adoption this intervention in South Africa, country remains heavily burdened high rates TB/HIV co-infections, reported to be 59% 2018. Reported challenges include low uptake completion rates. This study aimed determine rate investigate TB antiretroviral (ART) patients were initiated on TPT.
