ABSTRACT
Traditionally, conservation research has not focused on Rodentia and Soricomorpha, many species are known from a handful of specimens the type locality only (few (FETP)). Here we studied patterns occurrence FETP rodents soricomorphs in relation to geographical area vegetation zones report some considerations. Overall, 91 19 Soricomorpha were selected. There was positive correlation between number per genus each genus. The majority occur Neotropical, Afrotropical Oriental regions, regions. Higher numbers rodent occurred Argentina Indonesia. relationship richness country species. In terms habitat type, showed similar patterns, with most being found rainforest. great selected both groups Data Deficient (DD), Critically Endangered (CR) accounting for 16.5% 5.3% Soricomorpha. IUCN threatened mostly Neotropical region, followed by region. It is urged that authorities should promptly revise all their precautionary CR status, at least when reasonable timespan (i.e., >25 years) passed since last records.
