An updated checklist of gymnosperms the western Himalaya situated within political boundaries in India is provided along with conservation status and distribution. Lectotype for three names viz., Cedrus deodara (Roxb. ex Lam.) G. Don, Pinus roxburghii Sarg., Picea smithiana (Wall.) Boiss. are designated.
