ABSTRACT
The effect of propranolol (0.1 mg/kg intravenously followed by 320 mg given over 27 hour orally) on serum levels creatine kinase enzyme was studied in a randomized trial involving 95 patients seen within 12 hours onset symptoms uncomplicated myocardial infarction. In 15 who were treated with 4 onset, and eventually developed pathological Q waves, peak measured 27% (P less than 0.0125) lower 19 control also the but had no specific treatment. Total calculated appearance (reduced 25%, P 0.05) as rate (33%, 0.005). No significant difference found for compared entering more after chest pain. This evidence suggests that may reduce size infarctions if it is onset.
