ABSTRACT
To evaluate the difference in myocardial damage between primary aldosteronism and untreated essential hypertension, we performed thallium-201 single-photon emission computed tomography 10 patients with hypertension who were matched for age, sex, blood pressure, severity of left ventricular hypertrophy aldosteronism. From analysis scintigraphy, extent score was calculated. Extent significantly higher than (45.8 +/- 23.5% versus 9.5 7.3%, P < .01). After operation, pressure decreased, precordial voltages (SV1 + RV5) mass indexes reduced also improved. These results suggest that despite same estimated by scintigraphy is more severe hypertension. useful evaluation hypertensive patients.
