Introduction: A positive public health trend in Iowa the last decade has been decreasing mortality by stroke. However, there an alarming increased occurrence of stroke younger population (≤45 years) from 2010-2018. The risk factors responsible for rising incidence young need attention prevention. Hypothesis: This analysis examines whether over time persons with will have a different frequency and distribution some cardiovascular at their Additionally, we analyze if factor prevalence varies age cohort differs general age-matched Iowa. Methods: Using Stroke Registry, data 22,652 patients 2012-2017 was collected 32 hospitals. We investigated demographics, medical, social, family histories (≤45, >45) across (2012-2017) ischemic strokes. Statistical done to determine each varied significantly time, between groups. Comparisons were using Chi-Square tests categorical variables ANOVA continuous alpha=0.05. Trend change analyzed. used Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System 2015 compare among population. Results: Compared 45 years old patients, or less 2012-2018 higher prevelance obesity, morbid drug abuse, migraines, history smoking (p=<0.05). There lower prevalance past event, dyslipidemia, hypertension, atrial fibulation, antiplatelet medication use, anticoagulant antihypertension use Dyslipidemia hypertension decreased (R 2 0.45, 0.44). Also comparison counterparts, smoking, diabetes, prior stroke, MI, high cholesterol. They diagnosed depression no difference obesity. Conclusions: Younger strokes experience proportions than older these are changing time. ≤45 year vary overall age-matches state counterparts prevalence. Overall, findings highlight screening preventive interventions care providers.
