ABSTRACT
Introduction: While gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding is a possible surgical complication, there paucity of information on the incidence and risk among Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) patients undergoing Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Methods: We queried 2019 National Inpatient Sample to identify cases GI AMI CABG. Patient characteristics factors were estimated using multiple logistic regression. Results: Our analysis found that 48590 with underwent CABG, 865 (1.8%) events recorded. It was more prevalent Whites (aOR 1.462, p=0.012) Hispanics 2.436, p<0.01), ages >60 1.591, diagnosis supraventricular tachycardia 1.688, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation 1.670, cirrhosis 3.363, acute kidney injury 1.864, covered by Medicare 1.494, p=0.010), peripheral vascular disease 1.731, p<0.01). Meanwhile, hypertension 0.573, smokers 0.744, hyperlipidemia 0.477, obesity (aOR0.799, p<0.01) reported lower risks. A mortality rate 12.7% observed. Females 1.967, p=0.017), 5.521, 3.657, ventricular 2.002, p=0.033), 2.535, hyperkalemia 2.397, p=0.013) predisposed greater inpatient deaths, while diabetes 0. 491, 198, showed reduced risk. Finally, higher overall death seen who CABG if they had 2.674, Conclusions: can lead poor outcome during their hospitalization. also several predisposing these such events.
