ABSTRACT
Background— The Melody valve is approved for percutaneous pulmonary replacement in dysfunctional right ventricular outflow tracts. function of this when subjected to high-pressure loads humans unknown. aim study was describe the immediate and short-term results valves implanted a environment. Methods Results— Definitions system were established systemic (ie, aortic or mitral position) tract conduit tricuspid annulus) circulations. Implants these environments ascertained from databases 5 centers that participated US Investigational Device Exemption trial. Thirty implants met inclusion criteria: 23 circulation (all (5 native position, 1 left ventricle-to-descending aorta conduit, annulus). All performed percutaneously catheterization laboratory. A hybrid approach (surgical exposure transcatheter implant) used 4 implants. There no procedure-related deaths. Three patients died nonprocedure- nonvalve-related causes. At year, freedom moderate severe regurgitation 100%, mild 90%. Freedom stenosis 86% at year. Conclusions— Short-term performance encouraging, with good all patients.
