ABSTRACT
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is associated with various chronic inflammatory conditions, including cardiovascular disease. Hypertension characterized by increased levels of reactive oxygen species in tissues and blood, oxidative stress thought to contribute organ damage this In view this, the aim study was assess association between CMV infection, blood pressure, hypertensive patients. A total 89 patients normal or high pressure participated study. Patients systolic > 130 mmHg diastolic 90 using anti-hypertensive drugs were included group. Blood samples collected measure IgG indirect markers stress. group, 61 included, 45 women 16 men, a mean age 60.8 years. normotensive 228 20 8 47.4 The group showed higher (180.5 ± 20.7 RU/mL) catalase (1.34 1 μmol/min/mg) compared (155.4 57 RU/mL 1.01 0.74 μmol/min/mg, respectively). addition, serum carbonylated proteins (13.16 2.6) than (11.24 2.4). No differences observed glutathione S-transferase groups. Pearson correlation analysis revealed positive concentration (0.236, p=0.026) (0.217, p=0.041) However, not associate (-0.108) (-0.052) pressure. Based on these data, we suggest that may play role process.
