The prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in China is largely unknown. To obtain the COPD through a large-population, spirometry-based, cross-sectional survey COPD.Urban and rural population-based cluster samples were randomly selected from seven provinces/cities. All residents 40 years age or older clusters interviewed with standardized questionnaire revised international BOLD (Burden Obstructive Lung Diseases) study. Spirometry was performed on all eligible participants. Patients airflow limitation (FEV(1)/FVC < 0.70) further examined by post-bronchodilator spirometry, chest radiograph, electrocardiogram. Post-bronchodilator FEV(1)/FVC less than 70% defined as diagnostic criterion COPD.Among 25,627 sampling subjects, 20,245 participants completed spirometry (response rate, 79.0%). overall 8.2% (men, 12.4%; women, 5.1%). significantly higher residents, elderly patients, smokers, those lower body mass index, education, poor ventilation kitchen, who exposed to occupational dusts biomass fuels, problems childhood family history diseases. Among patients had COPD, 35.3% asymptomatic; only 35.1% reported lifetime diagnosis bronchitis, emphysema, other COPD; 6.5% have been tested spirometry.COPD prevalent individuals China.
