ABSTRACT
This report describes three cases where colonic submucosal tumors (SMT) were definitively diagnosed using endoscopic dissection (ESD) as excisional biopsy. [Case 1] An approximately 8 mm hemispherical SMT with a smooth surface was present in the rectosigmoid colon of 44-year-old woman. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) showed hypoechogenicity third layer from epithelial lining. ESD performed, and histopathological examination revealed leiomyoma. 2] A <10 yellowish ascending 43-year-old man. hyperechogenicity suspected region calcification, main locus assumed to be tertiary based on EUS findings. granular cell tumor diagnosed, performed. The diagnosis leiomyoma calcification. 3] 7 mildly irregular transverse 63-year-old hypoechoic spherical mass, located layer. resected specimen necrotic nodules submucosa. Colonic SMTs are difficult diagnose many simply followed up ; however, biopsy may aid such cases.
