Taxonomic synopsis of the Ficus sect. Pharmacosycea (Moraceae) from Colombia

ABSTRACT
Ficus subg. Pharmacosycea sect. (Moraceae, Rosales) is a monophyletic and neotropical plant group characterized mainly by having syconia with three basal bracts male flowers two stamens. Colombia has the largest diversity of but taxonomic studies on this are scant, thus we aimed to revise taxonomy F. Pharmacosycea. This study based fieldwork, examination herbarium material literature. in comprises 21 species, 14 commonly known: apollinaris, carchiana, crassiuscula, dewolfii, dulciaria, gigantosyce, insipida, maxima, mutisii, pulchella, rieberiana, segoviae, tonduzii, yoponensis; six have been treated as synonyms previously: aequatorialis, macrosyce, mexicana, santanderana, torresiana ulei. Ten lectotypes neotypes were designated here.
