ABSTRACT
The census of the loci classici 1,227 native, non-endemic vascular plants described from Italy is here presented and described. effective place publication accepted names, basionyms homotypic synonyms were identified critically verified. geographic information on was excerpted protologues, as well typification for taxa before 1 January 1958. names without a holotype are 1,165. For 591 lecto- or neo-typification available in literature, while 572 currently still need type designation. ten these showing previous ineffective typification, nomenclatural types designated (Allium savii, A. tenuiflorum, Anemone millefoliata, Catapodium tuberculosum, Cynosurus siculus, Filago congesta, Saponaria bellidifolia, Sclerochloa patens, S. zwierleinii, Vicia leucantha). A new combination (Trisetaria aurea comb. nov.) proposed. general picture Italy, including endemics, amounts to 2,631, i.e. about 32% native flora recorded country.
