ABSTRACT
During an investigation into species diversity of lignicolous freshwater fungi from the plateau lakes in Yunnan Province, China, a hyphomycetous fungus was collected Dianchi Lake. The new isolate placed Appendopyricularia as sister taxon juncicola within Barbatosphaeriaceae based on phylogenetic analysis combined ITS and LSU sequence data. is characterized by acrogenous, fusoid, guttulate conidia that are 3–4 septate have flexuous central apical appendage. It exhibits more pronounced appendages prominent denticle sporulation structure. Therefore, guttulata introduced morphological characteristics evidence. detailed description illustrations provided, well comparison with similar taxa.
