ABSTRACT
The identity of Isoperla curtata Navás, 1924, an Iberian endemic, has been questioned since its description. Marked variability in pigmentation, wing length, penial armature and ecology populations have noted. To clarify the taxonomic status I. we examined variation mating calls cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequences for two from north-central southern Spain. Results both approaches support presence species. population corresponds to nominal taxon, curtata, while represent a new species, morenica, described herein.
