ABSTRACT
A new species of Asian rock gecko, genus Cnemaspis, is described from Padawan, western Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. The forms a clade with C. paripari and nigridia the group in mitochondrial DNA phylogeny similar to them morphologically some characters such as caudal scalation. It differs other Cnemaspis its unique combination snout-vent length (up 62.7 mm), 4-9 precloacal pores males, keeled subcaudals an enlarged, smooth, median row, presence ventrolateral tubercles, coloration (head upper flanks dark-yellow; anterior portion tail black; posterior white black, paravertebral blob). Phylogenetic relationships within distributional ranges suggest allopatric speciation by geographic isolation.
