ABSTRACT
The roof (dorsal wall) of the female genital chamber (bursa copulatrix) was compared in 31 species representing six subgenera taxonomically difficult genus Psallus Fieber, 1858. This investigation tested potential value different elements dorsal wall sac, sclerotized rings, spermathecal gland, lateral oviducts, and infolding margins), anticipating diagnostic characters phylogenetic information for a need revision. very variable membranous pouch differentiated from vaginal wall, appears highly informative providing reliable at level; to some extent it may also reveal related species. At subgenus or level, sac must be examined with other equally structures roof. In cases, strong evidence is provided by these aiding recognition unrelated Pityopsallus Wagner forms homogenous species-group which does not seems closely s.l. should raised generic status as already proposed several authors. Hylopsallus gather united least one synapomorphy after removing such P. (Hylopsallus) callunae Reuter. Also, clear that pardalis Seidenstücker jungaricus Vinokurov & Luo excluded Psallus. One phyline (Atractotomus Campylomma Reuter, Europiella Phoenicocoris Plagiognathus Phylus Hahn, Sthenarus Fieber) appear distinct those
