ABSTRACT
With continuous increasing concerns of the energy issues, renewable sources are getting much attention worldwide. This paper presents a full description grid-tie Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) based on interfacing Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) to utility grid by using direct AC/AC matrix converter. Due random variation wind velocities, speed estimation control technique is used estimate velocity and extracts maximum power at all velocities. The converter controls point tracking MPPT adjusting PMSG terminal frequency, hence, shaft speed. In addition, injected current be in-phase with voltage for unity factor. Space Vector Modulation generate PWM signals switches. algorithm included in system PMSG. dynamic performance investigated Matlab/Simulink.
